Questions to Dive Deeper Into Scripture

August 30, 2020

Dive Deeper Into Scripture – 101

Scripture is important but often times can be pretty overwhelming. Where do you start? The beginning? Or maybe you’re reading scripture but aren’t getting out of it as much as you’d like to. Today, I’m sharing the key questions my women’s bible study asks when we study scripture. Often times between bible studies, we will pick verses or even a book to go through together. Each time, we ask ourselves these questions. This list was originally given to us by our church, Radius LA. Some of them are a bit repetitive but all are valuable for when you want to dive deeper into scripture.

1. What stands out to you in this passage?

2. What words or ideas are repeated in this passage?

3. What does this passage confirm about your understanding of God’s character?

4. What does this passage challenge about your understanding of God’s character?

5. What is God valuing in this passage?

6. How does this passage invite you to grow?

You can do this in a group or by journaling by yourself. If it’s something that really challenges you, I would encourage you to bring it to someone you trust.

“But everything exposed by the light becomes visible–and everything that is illuminated becomes a light.” Ephesians 5:13

After asking these questions, you’re encouraged to pray using language and learnings from the scripture as a way to praise God for the truths revealed and to cement what you’ve learned deepening into your mind, spirit, and heart.

That’s it! Simple but effective. As a bonus, I’ve put these questions on a little card for you if you want to print it out and stick it in your bible, journal, or bible study. Just enter your e-mail below and it will be headed straight to your inbox! Speaking of inboxes, please never hesitate to send any prayer requests my way. I already pray for you each and every day but if there is something specific I can petition for, let me know. We’re in this together.

Praying for your deepening relationship with Christ and sending you so much love,

scout and bex

P.S. This is a BIG BONUS. Below, if you enter your e-mail address, I’ll send you some FREE journaling worksheets that you can save and print whenever you need them. Plus! I created a FREE bookmark with the questions on it so you can stick it in your bible and everything you need is readily available! Just enter your e-mail below and both will be sent straight to your inbox. Just a little gift from me to you 🙂

BIGGEST LESSON IM TAKING FROM 2020: ✨find joy i BIGGEST LESSON IM TAKING FROM 2020:

✨find joy in the small every day moments✨

Life is hard. And beautiful. And tragic. And inspiring. It’s everything all the time and all at once.

Stay grounded. Stay rooted in Christ and who HE is. We are living in a broken world but our feet stay firmly and humbly planted in the truth that is our whole and complete God.

Your identity is in Christ and the more you believe that and stay rooted in its freedom, the beautiful moments will become amplified and they will become a part of you.
Merry Christmas from our family to yours🖤 peace Merry Christmas from our family to yours🖤 peace on Earth and good will towards everyone ❄️
Silent night, holy night All is calm, all is brigh Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
'Round yon virgin Mother and Child
Holy infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace
Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight!
Glories stream from heaven afar;
Heavenly hosts sing Al-le-lu-ia!
Christ the Savior is born!
Christ the Savior is born!
Christ the Savior is born!
Silent night, holy night
Son of God, oh, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth

The Christmas season doesn’t look the same as la The Christmas season doesn’t look the same as last year or quite frankly any year before that.

In a very real way, I am so grateful for my health and my loved ones heath more than ever before. And more then ever, I feel supremely blessed for the relationships in my life near or far.

This may be a difficult holiday for you this year. Maybe you’re grieving. The loss of a loved one or a job or traditions. You might be spending this holiday alone or missing family members because they live far away and can’t travel.

Whatever it is, know you’re not alone. I see you and honor what your season may look like. We will get through this one way or another and on the other side, may we feel a little more blessed than we did before.

Love you all. Especially @jmgrant2016 who I wish I could stand in front of the Christmas tree at Disneyland with this year too🖤
